The XR46073 is a two-step LED current controller for AC step driving with improved line regulation primarily for A19 LED bulb applications. It integrates two steps of current control to the LED strings and greatly improves the line regulation of the circuit by monitoring the line voltage and adjusting LED drive current proportionally.
The XR46073 can drive an external N-channel power MOSFET to regulate the current flowing through a high voltage (HV) LED string. It works as a constant current sink with linear type overvoltage protection (OVP), linear type over temperature protection (OTP) and line regulation compensation. It is suitable for applications with a rectified AC voltage source. The XR46073 is ideal for replacing incandescent light bulbs. The PCB design can be very compact to meet various shape requirements.
