We joined Nokia and others in this multi-source agreement (MSA) because:

• We have been a chipset provider in the PON market for several years, supporting all technologies from GPON to XGS-PON and serving consumers, businesses and infrastructure with SFUs, embedded SFPs and HGUs
• We want to jointly drive PON technology to the next stage and increase the data rate to 25G symmetrical for applications that require more than 10G, while keeping an ITU-T style communication protocol
• We want to ensure the methods used in the standard re-use the same techniques used in XGS-PON or are planned for ITU-T 50G to allow optimized chipset solution
• We see some operators have the need for a 25G symmetrical solution
